Our beaded jewellery is handmade by women from the Emberá indigenous community that lives in Mocoa, Colombia. Artisans use their traditional beading knowledge and great talent to needle-wove and hand-tread carefully each beaded piece.
The beadwork activity plays an important role in their cultural identity and economy. The beadwork often depicts animals, plants, and other elements from nature, as well as geometric patterns and designs, because the Embera are very connected to their natural environment.
In the Embera culture, every piece tells a story and talks about their relationship with Nature and its Cosmology. Also, this is one of the few economical activities available for the Embera women that continue to live in their traditional territory.
We use a silver/stainless steel fish hook to make our beaded earrings good quality and hypoallergenic. We co-design all our pieces with our artisans, offering exclusive pieces.
