Tagua is a nut from a palm tree called Phytelephas aequatorialis, or literally, “plant elephant” and is commonly referred to as “vegetable ivory”. This can only grow in the South American Rainforest in the countries of Colombia, Panama, Ecuador, Brazil, Peru and Bolivia.

Ancestral Meaning of Tagua
Among indigenous communities of South America, the Tagua nut represents the sacred, feminine energy. The belief is that wearing this nut maintains harmony among family members and friends

  • Keep Tagua dry by keeping them away from damp, unventilated conditions
  • Avoid overexposure to the sun as this can result in cracking surfaces
  • To clean Tagua nuts, wipe down with a soft cloth.
